Update construction progress in December 2016– Vientiane (Laos) international airport terminal expansion construction project
In December 2016, the construction works at the site of International passenger terminal West (IPTB West) have done several crucial categories. To illustrate, the third floor structure and 50% work load of the fourth floor beam have been accomplished. As expectation, the fourth floor beam works will have been finished by the early of January 2017. In addition, by the end of December 2016, concrete wall construction had been done. Along with the construction, INVESTCORP has made a detailed plan regarding labor and materials for the construction of other finishing categories (namely plastering, tiling, gypsum ceiling and partition works) to be continue after the Lunar New Year (about February 10, 2017).
At the International passenger terminal East (IPTB East), in December 23, 2016, the foundation excavation work was carried out to ensure the schedule proposed to the Owner. As expected, foundation construction category will have been finished before the Lunar New Year holiday. As submitted to the Owner, after the Lunar New Year holiday, INVESTCORP will begin structural categories such as beam, bracing structure, ground and column and quickly start constructing floor beam structure of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floor. According to the schedule, the structure category for the whole Eastern area will have been finished by April, 2017.
